Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend?

OrionHacks is targeted towards all high school students. Either you are a novice or veteran hacker, everyone will come out learning something new! If you already graduated from high school and want to support OrionHacks as a mentor, shoot us an email at team@orionhacks.com.

Do I have to pay for anything?

No! You are entirely covered for everything! We provide all atendees with free food, drinks, snacks, swag, and plenty more!

How do I join or form a team?

At the beginning of the event, after the opening ceremony there will be a team mixer in which you can meet new people and form teams! You do not need a team coming in as you will get to network and meet new friends!

What if I don't know how to code?

Don't worry! Coming in to this hackathon, you will get to meet new friends and learn in a fun-filled chill environment. We will have amazing workshops giving you a hands-on experience on how to code! These workshops are designed to boost your skills/experience so you can get back working on your project with more confidence and knowledge!

What should I bring?

Bring a valid student ID, a laptop, chargers, a reusable water bottle (we will not provide plastic bottles), and the signed waiver (preferrably signed online). Sleeping bags and toiletries are highly recommended.

What project should my team work on?

Any tech related project is acceptable. Any Hardware and/or Software integrated product is absolutely perfect to build! We will post the judging criteria shortly to everyone who is on our mailing list, so stay on the lookout for that!

What if I have dietary restrictions?

No worries! Simply fill in your dietary restrictions on the registration form. We will make sure to provide food based on everyone's needs. There will be vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options for everyone who attends.

I have another question...

We are here for you :). Shoot us an email at team@orionhacks.com. We will get back to you ASAP. Note: If a question is asked many times, it will be posted on the FAQ Section.
